We develop our virtual worlds with the innovative solutions from Gather.Town. We can also build spaces with Remo.co, but so far Gather has always been better suited to the requirements of our customer projects. In our opinion, Gather offers the best toolkit for creating virtual spaces. With our designs and programming, we expand the existing possibilities and create unique experiences for our customers. The issue of data protection is extremely important to us, which is why we ensure that the relevant guidelines are adhered to during implementation and inform our customers of any changes made by Gather.

Spaces can be used for any kind of virtual interaction. However, we recommend a different solution for the following activities
Business Chat: Gather.town offers a chat function, but it is rudimentary. We recommend using tools such as Slack, which can be integrated into our Spaces.
Quick one-off meetings with external people: If you want quick one-off on-demand meetings with external people, we think you’re better off with Google Meet. However, if these meetings take place regularly, a virtual meeting room in our Space can be an advantage.
Simple video conferences without interaction: If you only meet in a group for video calls and do not want any interaction between the participants, we think you should also rely on Google Meet.
No. We build our virtual worlds with Gather.town. What we program ourselves are integrations and extensions for our Spaces, for example the event management system, the community platform integration and much more. This enables us to implement our customers’ individual wishes and expand existing functionalities.
Compliance with GDPR regulations and the protection of privacy are important to us. Gather.town provides a comprehensive explanation of its data protection measures in its Privacy Policy. In our opinion, Gather.town is much more privacy-friendly than Zoom and MS Teams (if not self-hosted). We will be happy to clarify this and ensure that your company does not encounter any data protection problems. Our own extensions such as event management, community platform etc. are hosted 100% GDPR-compliant on German ISO-certified servers. For more information please contact us.

This is particularly true for our digital office spaces. Every person who is logged into the Space can see directly whether other people are available, in meetings or do not want to be disturbed. Instead of first asking via chat or telephone whether the person is available, you can “walk over” directly and start a conversation if they are available. You can also start a meeting for several people in one room with a single click. Each person can change their availability quickly. More details can be found in the wiki of Gather.town HERE and HERE.
The advantage of Colabi Spaces lies in the design, customizing, programming of extensions/integrations and support. Implementing the spaces yourself with Gather and developing your own integrations, event management and community platforms takes a lot of time and requires knowledge.
